We were just chatting in the office the other day about all the events we have catered for over the years and there has been so many! We loved each and every one and have catered for big and small events with a hog roast Burghfiled. Last weekend we were catering for a fishing event and the first of its kind for us. It was a big competition they have every year and decided they wanted a change of catering from the usual sandwich and wanted some nice hot food and so our hog roast Burghfiled was just perfect.
We arrived early and set up by the river, there was a lovely view and lines of anglers all lined up and keen to catch the big fish of the day! We wasted no time at all at getting started and brought with us a huge pig, which caught the eye of the anglers as it was spinning happily away. We were going to shred the pork and place it in huge buns with lots of fresh salad a nice tasty filling meal and we knew all would be keen to try and not to mention the crunchy crackling. We got everything ready and watched as the winner was announced with a prized 10-pound fish! After the presentation the anglers were all waiting to be fed, we first removed the crackling and placed it on the table and that was gone in minutes.
The pork was so moist and tender and we shredded the meat and placed it in the buns the anglers were thanking us and telling us they were so hungry and had been there fishing since day break. We had plenty of food and they had second and third helpings we love to see that. The organiser said he wished he had found us years ago and said would we come every year and cater with a hog roast Burghfiled? We said we would love to – another firm booking in our diary and we have many it gives us so much pleasure to get firm bookings time after time, we are very grateful. As we left the anglers gave us a round of applause and thanked us we were so touched and they were such nice chaps.
