Hog Roast Shinfield Went To Winter Camp

Famed for its emerald green pastures, rolling hills and twisty woodland paths, there are few better places to go if you want to be at one with nature than Berkshire. And hoping to share the breath taking scenery with fellow outdoor enthusiasts from in and around the county, event planners Cassie and Andrew had come up with the unique idea of hosting their very own Winter Camp for adults!

Complete with arts and crafts workshops, archery lessons and a quick course in cider-making, the pair had entertainment completely covered. But realising that all those recreational activities would surely be hungry work, they also knew they had to offer up a deliciously indulgent meal to end each evening. After doing a quick social media poll, it was decided that a hog roast buffet would be perfect for the guests to tuck into after a long day, and who better to serve it to them than Hog Roast Shinfield?

Hog Roast Shinfield Immediately impressed by our glowing testimonials from past clients, Cassie and Andrew had decided to book us and right away, they let our catering manager, Roy, know exactly what they wanted from us. They had requested for our team to serve our Classic Hog Roast Menu for the first two nights of their camping retreat, and then, on the third and final night, our Southern Slow Roast Menu. As well as this, the pair were very impressed by the tasty meat-free dishes we have on offer at Hog Roast Shinfield, and so they had requested some of these choices to be included for vegan and veggie guests.

Hog Roast Shinfield certainly didn’t disappoint. On the first two evenings, we served up a smashing spit-roast with all the trimmings and grilled veggie kebabs, which the guests eagerly devoured whilst they chatted around the fire pit. On the final night, we went the whole hog (pardon the pun!) by serving up our Deep South-inspired feast of BBQ pork butt, Texan 24 hour beef brisket and Louisiana sticky pork ribs (or BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls for the veggies/vegans) with a selection of super tasty side dishes, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended!
