There are few milestones more special than a golden wedding anniversary, and on 9th August in Addlestone, one couple celebrated fifty years of marriage surrounded by family, friends, and fabulous food. Catering Manager James and the team from Hog Roast Addlestone were honoured to provide a feast worthy of the occasion.
Taking centre stage was a whole roasted pig, cooked slowly until the crackling was perfectly crisp and the meat tender and juicy. Guests enjoyed the pork with homemade sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce, and a variety of bread rolls and wraps, including gluten-free options. It was the kind of food that brought smiles all round and had people going back for seconds.
To accompany the hog roast, a colourful spread of sides filled the buffet tables. From fresh tomato and mozzarella salad to crunchy coleslaw, mixed salad, and herb-dressed new potatoes, there was plenty of variety. Pasta salad and corn cobettes added even more choice, ensuring that every guest could build a plate to their taste.
The team also catered beautifully for vegetarian and vegan guests. Grilled vegetable skewers, with halloumi for vegetarians and a dairy-free version for vegans, were served with wraps, tzatziki, and sweet chilli sauce. Far from being an afterthought, these dishes proved just as popular as the hog roast itself.
What made the day even more special was the atmosphere. The catering team worked seamlessly in the background, setting up quickly and keeping everything running smoothly so the focus stayed on the celebration. As one guest put it, the food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the crackling was so good they’d happily have the team back just for that alone.
Served buffet style on rustic wooden crockery with eco-friendly cutlery, the food looked every bit as inviting as it tasted. For Hog Roast Addlestone, it was a true pleasure to help mark such an important family milestone, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable flavour.
