On Saturday 26th April, the team at Hog Roast Basingstoke were delighted to cater a vibrant spring celebration for 100 guests in the heart of Berkshire. Set against the backdrop of a beautiful countryside venue just outside of Basingstoke, the event brought together friends and family for an evening of great food and of course, great company, all made even more memorable by the unmistakable aroma of our signature hog roast.
At the heart of the feast was our whole roasted pig, slow-cooked on-site for hours until the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and the crackling perfectly crisp. Served with Hog Roast Basingstoke’s homemade sage and onion stuffing and a generous spoon of apple sauce, our guests enjoyed our signature dish, and we were so pleased to have received raving reviews from so many guests both in-person and online.
Hog Roast Basingstoke paired the pork with a colourful selection of fresh sides, including a tomato and mozzarella salad, crunchy coleslaw, a leafy mixed salad, and buttery herb-dressed new potatoes. Every dish was freshly prepared on the day and served buffet-style, allowing guests to help themselves and come back for seconds, and even thirds! We were also proud to offer a hearty vegetarian and vegan option – our grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (served without halloumi for vegan guests), wrapped in warm flatbreads with the choice of a cooling tzatziki or a vibrant sweet chilli sauce. This ensures that all those in attendance could enjoy the main course, without restrictions.
Dinner was served right on time at 7pm, just as the fire pits were lit and the music picked up tempo. Therefore, there was plenty of time for everyone to get their fill, and even tuck into desserts, of course.
