Celebrating Life and Friendship with Hog Roast Fleet

Hog Roast FleetAt Hog Roast Fleet, we always say that great food has a way of bringing people together – and on Sunday, 7th September, that’s exactly what happened at Siska, Springfield Lane. Catering Manager Jack and the team were invited to cater for 50 guests at a wonderful gathering that wasn’t tied to a wedding or milestone birthday but instead celebrated something just as important: life itself and the joy of long-standing friendships.

The menu reflected the warm, communal feel of the day. Our whole roasted pig, cooked slowly until the crackling turned golden and crisp, was the star attraction. It was served alongside homemade apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing, the perfect pairings that guests couldn’t get enough of. Freshly baked bread rolls and wraps, including gluten free options, gave everyone a chance to build their plates just the way they liked.

To complement the roast, guests enjoyed a range of vibrant sides. Tomato and mozzarella salad, a crisp mixed salad, and crunchy coleslaw provided a refreshing balance, while our hearty potato option – a mixture of traditional and sweet potato fries with sauces, salt, andHog Roast Fleet vinegar – added a fun and indulgent touch.

Of course, we also ensured vegetarian and vegan guests had just as exciting choices. Options included our much-loved grilled vegetable skewers with tzatziki and sweet chilli dips, or vegan pulled jackfruit, slow cooked in a hickory BBQ sauce and topped with crunchy slaw. Both were served with the same care and flavour as our main roast.

No celebration is complete without dessert, and the additions to the menu made this occasion extra special. Guests were treated to delicate profiteroles and a refreshing lemon tart, both served buffet-style on rustic bamboo crockery. The sweet treats brought the afternoon to a perfect close.

This Hog Roast Fleet event proved that sometimes the simplest reason – gathering together to appreciate life and friendships – is the best one of all. Surrounded by laughter, conversation, and delicious food, it was a day filled with gratitude and joy, and we were honoured to be part of it.
