One of the things that we love about catering for parties, celebrations and special occasions, both large and small, is being able to make our clients’ experiences even more memorable by providing great food and a friendly service.
We provide catering services for many different types of events and it is always a privilege to be involved in every single one of them, but there is something extra-special about catering for a christening and playing a part in the official celebration of a new life being brought into the world. That’s why we were delighted when we here hired by Mark and Nicola to provide the food for the christening party of their new daughter Holly last Sunday.
Even though the venue of choice was a cricket club in not-so-sunny Earley, cucumber sandwiches were definitely not on the menu. The proud parents opted for a simple menu for their 60 guests: slow roasted pork cooked in our state of the art hog roast machine, accompanied by our signature apple sauce and crispy crackling, served in freshly baked buns.
After the formalities of the church service, the family wanted a relaxed, low-key celebration accompanied by a traditional Hog Roast Earley lunch and that is exactly what we provided. Mark and Nicola selected this menu because they wanted their guests (many of whom hadn’t seen each other for quite a while) to be able to chat, mingle and enjoy the food freely whilst having a good catch up and posing for lots of pictures with the star attraction baby Holly.
Taking all of their requirements into account, we made sure the layout of the function room was sociable, rather than formal and our catering team timed the preparation of the Hog Roast Earleyt to perfection, applying the finishing touches as the guests started to arrive from the church. Our on-site chef set about expertly carving the tender, slow-cooked pork whilst family and friends gathered around to toast the new addition to the family.
The food and atmosphere were everything Mark and Nicola were hoping for and we were delighted to have participated in their special day. We hope to see you all again when Holly is old enough to try our delicious crackling!
