Cards on the table: we all hate road closures! Whether you’re trying to navigate rush hour traffic or have an important event to attend, the sight of hi-vis jackets and orange cones is sure to make your stomach sink. But every cloud has a silver lining, am I right? And that feeling of cruising along a smooth, pothole-free road is hard to beat. No bump, bump, bump along crumbling tarmac or turning your radio up to avoid listening to your suspension meet its ill fate. More slip roads, means less chance of getting stuck in a jam. And let’s not forget the safety benefits too!
If you frequently travel along the M25 (particularly the M25 junction 10 and A3 interchange), then you’ll know that this area has undergone some significant work as of late. Aiming to create a smoother traffic flow and safer road network at one of the M25’s busiest sections, Balfour Beatty was called in to carry out the complex project. It took a lot of man hours, collaborating with stakeholders and careful planning but they are excited to announce the work is finally complete.
As a little reward for all of their staff’s hard work and in celebration of completing this challenging project, Balfour Beatty recently held a luncheon for 350 guests. What’s even more exciting is that Hog Roast Woking was called in to handle the catering, and while it was a challenging feat for our franchisees, Roy and James, they did us proud!
Hog Roast Woking was tasked with serving an entirely bespoke menu, which was tailored to Balfour Beatty’s unique requirements. For Hog Roast Woking, this meant communication throughout the food service was paramount, as they weren’t working with a pre-set meal plan.
Roy and James had everything handled, however, and despite the large volume of guests and strict 12:30pm serving time, they made sure everything was piping hot and ready to go right when the clients needed it. Guests tucked into a buffet of handmade British beef burgers, Thai chicken kebabs, Cajun-spiced chicken, Texan-style beef brisket and pulled quarter of minted lamb, alongside Greek salad, coleslaw, mixed sweet potato and classic fries, plus rolls and wraps.
We also whipped up 35 portions of veggie burgers and grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers, ensuring everyone was well taken care of.
The event couldn’t have run smoother, and thanks to Hog Roast Woking, it’ll be a day Balfour Beatty never forgets!
