We are busy preparing for our Hog Roast Sonning season. It’s a cold frosty morning here at the farm with temperatures of -4.
James the Director is in early, scheduling all the jobs to be done around the farm for the day. There are dogs and geese to be fed and most importantly our pigs. This is when they get their daily feed of local Ale. There is also cleaning out to be done and Horse stables being run.
All the Hog Roast Sonning Machines are being cleaned again today, we always like them to shine. All floors are to be mopped and kitchens to be cleaned.
After James has given out the tasks to Geoff (our farm hand) for the day he puts the kettle on and heads over to the office to get the heating on before his admin Lisa arrives. James and Roy like to look after all their staff as they believe that a happy team is a hard working team.
Once Lisa arrives it’s all systems go! There are lots of leads to be followed up from potential customers from HQ and lots of questions from the inquiries that need answering. Not forgetting lots of booking agreements to be completed for customers wanted to book with us.
Also lots of customers to call who have Hog Roasts Sonning booked in at the weekend to discuss final numbers and arrangements.
James is then off finalising the logistics for the weekend’s jobs, whilst Roy the Owner and Director is taking care of the running of the Farm itself.
It’s Lunchtime already so a quick coffee and a snack before James and Lisa carry on with their working day clearing the inbox and answering incoming emails and calls.
It’s still very cold outside so Roy goes to check all the animals have enough warm bedding for the night and are happy and fed. The pigs are always satisfied and warm from their beer!
Its dark now and its home time for us all. Another busy day on the farm draws to a close.
