Whether it’s your first year married or your fiftieth, celebrating an anniversary never loses its shine. And doing it surrounded by the people you love most? That’s an experience you just can’t beat.
Jacinta and Michael wanted a piece of that magic for themselves, so in the lead-up to their anniversary, they set about planning something properly unforgettable. Before long, they’d landed on the perfect venue, put together a playlist that meant something to them, and had a guest list sitting at a solid fifty names. The only thing left to sort was the food – and that’s where Hog Roast Shackleford came in.
Feeding a crowd this size might sound daunting on paper, but honestly, we’ve done it so many times by now that most of it comes down to muscle memory. We know exactly how much food a group of this size needs, we know when to show up regardless of what the weather’s throwing at us, and putting together a spread that actually impresses people has become second nature.
For Jacinta and Michael, that’s exactly the kind of service they were after. So, they were delighted when our catering manager James took the reins on everything, allowing them to actually be present at their own celebration and soak up the atmosphere instead of worrying about logistics. And that’s really the whole point of what we do.
Hog Roast Shackleford made sure every guest walked away properly fed and genuinely looked after, whether that meant tucking into our signature hog roast or, for the vegans in the group, going for our BBQ-pulled jackfruit, slow-cooked in smoky hickory flavours that held their own against the meat. We’re not really ones for doing things by halves either, so alongside the mains, we laid out plenty of extras, such as applesauce and sage and onion stuffing to go with the pork, plus a homemade mixed salad and gourmet coleslaw on the side.
Between the quality of the food and our team’s easy-going energy, guests were relaxed almost instantly, and as they drifted back and forward, filling and refilling their plates well into the evening, Jacinta and Michael couldn’t help but feel glad they’d put their trust in Hog Roast Shackleford.
