Anyone who knows Hog Roast Sunningdale knows that we have been following the Euros closely. Many of you will know this because we have been right there alongside you during each and every match as we have catered for many a watch party for the England games.
Like many, we were surprised and amazed to see the England squad make it all the way to the final. The country may not have expected it after those early rounds, but the Lions proved us all wrong and fought and scraped their way all the way to Berlin for the grand final. An impressive achievement that none can take away from! Across your watch events over the last month and a half we have loved being able to take in all of the action (dramatic and as excruciatingly stressful as it was at times throughout) while serving up our matchday menus. This included such matchday winners as our hog roast, our spicy marinated ribs, our kebab skewers, chicken legs, pulled jackfruit, burgers, sausages, salads, slaws, and more. With each matchday menu, everyone ended up a winner regardless of the result or the performance on the pitch.
So, of course, we were delighted when many of your returned to Hog Roast Sunningdale for your final plans. It was a massive day for the entire country with just about everyone finding somewhere big to watch, sing, eat, and celebrate, so to be included in many of your plans was a massive privilege. On our end as a caterer, that’s the big win enough for us, but of course we would have loved to have seen football finally come home, too. Alas, it wasn’t quite meant to be with the day ending on a disappointing and painful note as Spain took the crown, leaving the England men to yet another devastating final loss. Still, however, it is important to look at the upside in such times, and for ourselves we can celebrate an incredible tournament where we got to enjoy plenty of time with many of you. There were plenty of highs throughout, it is just devastating that it all ends on a low once again. Still, we reckon we’ll be back there soon enough, and when we do, Hog Roast Sunningdale will be right there with you all again for all of the drama!
