It’s coming to the end of the summer and today we’re at a surprise party in Clewer. We have done lots of events in and around this area including the prestigious Dorney Lake and Queen’s Eyot. All the logistics are in place, our admin Lisa has been secretly liaising with family members all week to ensure this surprise hog roast in Clewer runs smoothly, without the guest of honour suspecting a thing. James the Logistics Manager has everything loaded and in place ready to go including our slow cook option off site where the hog slowly cooks off site at our farm, is transported in the same hog master oven at the correct temperature ready for our arrival an hour and a half before serve time.
We arrive at our destination and park on the driveway. Our chef checks with the family if its suitable to leave our van there so as not to spoil the surprise, she checks where to set up and chef and server go about setting up, they are ready and in place within 20 minutes.
The hog roast in Clewer is set up and bubbling away ready for the guest of honour to arrive, it all goes quiet and here she comes, overwhelmed by everything and a few tears are shed by all. The guest of honour has her pictures taken with the hog roast and then the chef takes all the family together for a family photo. We pull the hog apart back into its natural juices and uncover all the salads and condiments ready to serve with real crockery today upgraded by the customer on our popular menu 3. Everyone comes up for seconds and comments on how much they have enjoyed their food. We check everyone has had enough to eat and we check where the leftovers need to go. We’re packed up and ready to go within 20 minutes, we check the family enjoyed their event and thanked them all for having us. They clapped and cheered as we left. Another successful event for Spitting Pig Berkshire and off home we go back to our farm ready to travel far and wide to do more events over the Autumn and Winter.
