There’s undoubtedly a lot to love about the holiday season: chocolates in large doses, festive songs on the radio non-stop, gift-giving (and receiving!), the magical atmosphere, and, of course, the Christmas movies! Yes, nothing beats the feeling of snuggling up on the sofa and binge-watching your favourite festive films with the whole family…except maybe seeing them on the big screen, right?
Well, thanks to the reintroduction of drive-in theatres, it’s now entirely possible to experience the unrivalled splendour of viewing those Christmas classics we all know and love from your car! Providing the perfect romantic setting for couples and a wholesome environment for families, it’s no wonder open-air movie theatres have been becoming increasingly popular over the last few years. But a movie showing is never complete without something tasty to eat, don’t you agree? And that’s where Hog Roast Newbury comes in!
Skilled at creating fresh, mouth-watering food for the masses, Hog Roast Newbury is regularly hired to help out with organised events in our local area. In fact, we spent last Saturday night whipping up our famous hog roast rolls at a community showing of Dr Seuss’ ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas’!
Nearly 300 people had purchased tickets for this event, which meant Hog Roast Newbury had their work cut out for them. Our team are always ready to rise to any challenge, though, so they rolled up their sleeves, donned their aprons and set straight to work on preparing a luscious feast of mouth-watering pork, sage and onion stuffing and crispy crackling, which they presented on gluten-free and wholemeal rolls with a side of gourmet coleslaw, salads and mixed sweet potato and regular fries.
Ensuring the non-meat-eaters didn’t feel left out, Hog Roast Newbury whipped up our delicious grilled vegetable kebabs with optional Greek halloumi cheese chunks, tzatziki dip, sweet chilli sauce and flatbreads.
The ticket holders enjoyed every morsel of the food our team created and chased down our tantalising hog roast rolls with a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate and a bucket of warm butter popcorn or churros from the other vendors who had been invited to attend.
