Hog Roast Sonning Had A Fantastic Time At A 7th Birthday Party!

Hog Roast SonningLove cowboys and aliens but can’t choose which is a better party theme? Well, why not pick both? That’s what little Mason did for his 7th birthday, and we have to say, the results were epic!

Working hard to give Mason his dream birthday bash, his mum Cara had gone to the trouble of renting out a party hall for the occasion, which she had masterfully decorated with a blend of space and western-themed props. Pairing futuristic with country western might not sound like the typical thing to do, but it sure worked, and all the guests seemed to love it as much as the birthday boy did!

All of the children who attended came dressed up as either an Indiana Jones look-a-like or as a space-dwelling creature. Once everyone had arrived and had the chance to take in each other’s costumes, Cara got the ball rolling on the party by setting up the first of many games that she had planned as entertainment.

From classic games like pass the parcel and musical statues to pinning the antennae on the alien and lassoing the hobby horse, Mason and his friends had plenty to keep them occupied! After a couple of hours, their stomachs were growling, which is when Hog Roast Sonning unveiled our Southern Slow Roast buffet!

Roy and James, Hog Roast Sonning’s highly-skilled catering managers, had spent all morning working on this delightful spread for the group of 30 kids, which consisted of mouth-watering BBQ pork butt, Texan 24-hour beef brisket and beautifully succulent Cajun-spiced whole roast chicken, with a meat-free option of BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with entirely plant-based coleslaw. Accompanying the aromatic mains, our crew had rustled up a batch of sweet potato fries, irresistibly creamy macaroni and cheese and a bold and colourful salad dish, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed!

After the guests had finished stuffing themselves with our tasty food, little Mason blew out his birthday candles, and Hog Roast Sonning performed their final task of the day. Before packing up and tidying the mess leftover from the food service, Roy and James sliced the birthday cake and dressed it in fresh cream and berries.
