With all this great weather we’ve been having recently, Hog Roast Wokingham has been making the most of every opportunity we’ve been given to get out and soak up the sunshine and mingle with members of our local community!
Just last weekend, we were invited to help out with the catering at a classic car show, and we had a brilliant time doing so! Gear heads from near and far descended on a town not too far from our headquarters, where they shared their love of vintage motors with fellow car geeks.
As you can probably imagine, the space was vibrant and filled with the sound of purring engines from old – but well-cared-for – Cadillacs, Porsches, McLarens, Bentleys, Morris Minors…well, you get the idea! There was even a Chevy Corvette in the mix, which many guests were keen to have their photo taken with.
To keep the event entertaining for the whole family, there were also some carnival rides, raffles and hook-a-bag games for the children to take part in, plus a bouncy castle course, face painting stalls and plenty of food to satisfy everyone’s cravings.
This thrilling event resulted in a steady ebb and flow of hundreds of people throughout the day, each of whom, we’re delighted to say, was just as thrilled by Hog Roast Wokingham’s presence as they were the classic cars! Our catering manager, Roy, enthralled their taste buds with dishes from our Southern Slow Roast Menu, which consists of three smokey meat options, a vegan-friendly alternative and three classic sides.
The guests on this occasion were particularly taken by our fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, which were soft, tender and full of flavour thanks to the secret recipe rub that the meat had been marinated in for hours before cooking! The Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, Texan 24-hour beef brisket and BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls also went down a storm, and more than anything, the guests loved having lots of variety to choose from.
The Hog Roast Wokingham gang had such a great time at this event, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how the day panned out.
