Hog Roast Thatcham – Autumnal Wedding Catering To Remember!

Hog Roast ThatchamNo matter what you might have heard, autumn is a great time to tie the knot – and not just because getting married off-season is kinder on the ol’ wallet!

Brides and grooms who’ve gotten hitched at this time of year will tell you just how magical their wedding day felt courtesy of the fallen leaves and ice-white skies, which together make for a striking backdrop for wedding photos. There are also the cosy colour schemes and fairy lights, which can add warmth to the atmosphere and comforting foods to keep guests from feeling the chill.

Yes, it has to be said that here at Hog Roast Thatcham, we love an autumn wedding! And fortunately for us, our job allows us to attend lots of these gorgeous celebrations!

On that note, we’re happy to share that our team has been kept very busy with wedding catering as of late, especially as we’re still dealing with some of the backlog caused by covid. One lovely couple who had been waiting up until last weekend for their big day to go ahead was Rhys and Tara.

The pair had organised a rustic barn wedding in celebration of their love for one another, and they had invited 135 guests to help them mark the occasion. Hog Roast Thatcham was hired to satiate the guests’ appetites with our Alfresco Wedding Menu, which has a fantastic informal feel to it.

Hog Roast ThatchamOur catering managers, Roy and James, worked together to assemble this best-loved spread for the couple, which centred around our signature slow-roasted pig with stuffing, crackling and applesauce served on gluten-free rolls. Side salads, gourmet coleslaw and sweet potato fries were also on offer, as well as a plant-based choice of BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls for veggies and vegans and, for each table, Hog Roast Thatcham had prepared a charcuterie board of Italian deli meats, cheeses, artisan breads, olives, sundried tomatoes and dressings for the guests to pick at.

Rounding off this incredibly tasty meal, which elicited compliments from all of the guests, Hog Roast Thatcham served a choice of profiteroles or cheesecake, followed by a slice of wedding cake dressed in fresh cream and berries.
